We are thrilled to announce that Katie Minniear, an incoming senior, has been selected for the highly esteemed Bank of America Student Leaders Program. Katie's remarkable achievement places her among an elite group of students nationwide who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to community service and leadership.
This year, the Bank of America Student Leaders Program received over 7,000 applications from talented and motivated students across the country. Out of these, only 315 students were chosen for this prestigious honor, highlighting the rigorous selection process and the exceptional quality of applicants. Katie's selection is a testament to her passion for community improvement and her outstanding efforts to make a positive impact.
As a Bank of America Student Leader, Katie will embark on an enriching eight-week paid internship at Michelle's Place, a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to individuals and families affected by cancer. This internship will commence shortly after the conclusion of the school year, offering Katie a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience in civic, social, and business leadership.
During her internship, Katie will work closely with the team at Michelle's Place, contributing to their vital mission and learning about the critical role nonprofits play in our communities. This hands-on experience will not only enhance her leadership skills but also deepen her understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the nonprofit sector.
In addition to the internship, all 2024 Bank of America Student Leaders, including Katie, will travel to Washington, D.C., from July 22-27 for the highly anticipated Student Leaders Summit. This summit will bring together students from across the country for an exciting week of interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and inspiring experiences. Attendees will have the chance to meet with Bank of America leaders and government officials, visit iconic D.C. landmarks, and engage in discussions that will shape their perspectives on leadership and community service.
Katie's participation in the Bank of America Student Leaders Program and her internship at Michelle's Place mark significant milestones in her journey as a young leader. Her dedication, hard work, and commitment to making a difference have earned her this remarkable opportunity, and we are incredibly proud of her achievements.
Katie's journey reflects the charism of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac: extending a hand to those in need, maintaining the flame of living out God’s love, mercy and compassion, living up to Mary's name with grace and humility. She embodies the spirit of service and leadership that Saint Jeanne embraced, and we are confident that she will continue to inspire and uplift those around her.
Please join us in congratulating Katie Minniear on this outstanding accomplishment. We look forward to following her journey and witnessing the positive impact she will undoubtedly make in our community and beyond.
